Catyph Figurine #1

In my lost hours, I'm preparing a figurine of the hero of Catyph. I don't know if the result will be good, but I decided to share the steps with you. Today, I'll focus on the preparations.

I started with the 3D model that I use in the game. Some people could ask why not making a 3D print, but I prefer something hand made. First thing I notice is that the suit will be difficult to reproduce. The curvy shapes are suddenly broken by edges, and the material of the whole thing is very smooth, like perfect plastic.

I don’t have much tools, and for most of the modeling I will use my fingers. I have a pack of Fimo paste (350g) but I plan to use only the half of it. Then I have pliers to work the initial wire. For this I chose electric wire, and I removed the rubber outside with scissors. I think copper wire is perfect, easy to bend and to cut. Finally I’ll use a knife to cut the Fimo paste, in order to make specific shapes sometimes. And small brushes with acrylic paint. Acrylic gives good results on a figurine, is cheap and easy to wash and to find in shops. With this I’m ready to go. Next steps tomorrow!
